Description

Former all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has been named as the head coach of Pakistan for the upcoming series against New Zealand. The men's team will be playing a five-match T20I series, in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Additionally, Wahab Riaz has been named as the senior team manager while Mohammad Yousuf and Saeed Ajmal will be the batting and bowling coach respectively.

Pakistan had been in search of a full-time head coach with the likes of Shane Watson being in the reckoning at one point. Mahmood's current term is set to be only for the upcoming tour. Mahmood has previously served as the bowling coach of the national team until 2019 and has also had coaching stints at the Pakistan Super League.

Pakistan have been without a full time coach since the departure of Grant Bradburn along with Micky Arthur who had served as Director of Cricket.
