Super League: Adam Clune snatches win for Huddersfield Giants, St Helens pile more misery on Hull FC

Huddersfield Giants grabbed late victory away to Leeds Rhinos, while St Helens dominated Hull FC and Wigan Warriors made it back-to-back wins over Castleford Tigers.; watch every match of the 2024 Betfred Super League season live on Sky Sports Clune put the seal on a remarkable evening when Naiqama intercepted a pass from Cameron Smith and survived shouts for a knock-on as he juggled the ball out to his team-mate to finish the job.

"It's heart-breaking because we put a lot of good work in and for a large part of that game we were the better team," Smith told Sky Sports.

"You don't do that [short drop-out] at 24-all, you have a go at it. At that stage you kick it long, but given we'd defended for so long at that point, I can sort of understand why it crossed their mind.

"But that wasn't the right play." St Helens scored 10 tries without conceding to ensure they bounced back to winning ways with an emphatic  victory over lowly Hull FC in Betfred Super League.

Eager to respond to their Betfred Challenge Cup thrashing by Warrington Wolves last week, Saints wasted no time making their mark on this one and scored four in the first period courtesy of Tommy Makinson, Jonny Lomax, Waqa Blake and James Bell. Mark Percival slotted all four of his conversions between the sticks to make it 24-0 at the break.

St Helens continued to chalk up the tries after the interval and put on 32 second-half points, with Joe Batchelor, Percival, Konrad Hurrell, Curtis Sironen and Jack Welsby getting on the scoresheet before Blake grabbed his brace.
