As a new forum member, I'm absolutely hooked on the captivating travel blogs. I'm excited to connect with all of you who share a love for nature and machines.

Last month, I had an incredible weekend drive to the serene Malamanda Mountain Camp in Kerala. I took my trusty Thar on this adventure, exploring the untouched beauty of the Urumbikkara Hills in Idukki district. If you have an off-roader, I highly recommend visiting this place. Trust me, every moment spent driving here is pure joy.

We departed Bangalore at 6am, with a full tank, leaving the cityscape behind in my rearview mirror. Our route took us through Krishnagiri, Salem, Dindigul, Theni, Kumily, and Kuttikkanam.

Unexpected stop! With no specific plans in mind, we decided to let our senses guide us. As we ventured along the Dindigul bypass road, we found ourselves face-to-face with the local authorities, as has become somewhat of a tradition ever since I acquired my beloved Thar. Instead of focusing on identification, their curiosity is always the car itself. Questions about its price and my personal experience.

After a thorough inspection and with hunger setting in, we asked them for a good local restaurant recommendation. Their response was resounding: "Venu's Biryani."

It was a short (5km) detour into the city, navigating through crowded streets, the effort was well worth it. We had Mutton Biryani, which turned out to be one of the best biryanis I've ever had.  We also tried their mutton and chicken fries, and meatballs, all of which were equally delicious. If you pass through Dindigul, I highly recommend giving it a try.
