Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ) is a classic Bollywood romantic film released in 1995, directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Chopra. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles and has become one of the most iconic and beloved films in Indian cinema.

The story begins with Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol), two young Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) living in London. Simran is set to marry her family friend in India, whom she has never met, as per her father's wishes. Raj and Simran meet during a trip across Europe with their friends and initially don't get along. However, as they spend more time together, they start falling in love.

As the trip comes to an end, Simran returns to India, where preparations for her wedding are in full swing. Raj realizes he cannot live without Simran and decides to go to India to win her over. He follows Simran to her hometown, where he ingratiates himself with her family, especially her conservative father, played by Amrish Puri. Raj's charm and wit win over everyone, except Simran's father, who is adamant about her marrying the man he has chosen for her.

The film explores themes of love, family values, and cultural identity. It beautifully portrays the clash between tradition and modernity, as well as the complexities of Indian family dynamics. Raj's determination to win Simran's hand against all odds, and Simran's struggle to reconcile her love for Raj with her sense of duty towards her family, form the heart of the story.

In the end, true love triumphs, and Raj and Simran are united, with her father finally relenting and accepting their relationship. The film concludes with the iconic scene of Raj helping Simran onto a moving train, symbolizing their journey together into a new life.

DDLJ broke numerous box office records and became the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema, playing continuously in theaters for over 25 years. It also won several awards and accolades, cementing its status as a timeless classic and a cultural phenomenon.
