Punjab National Bank (PNB) is the second largest Public Sector Bank in India with a glorious history of more than 125 years. The Bank was founded with fired spirit of nationalism and on the idea that Indians should have a national bank of their own. Punjab National Bank Ltd was the result of the efforts of far-sighted visionaries and patriots, among whom were persons like Lala Lajpat Rai, Mr. E C Jessawala, Babu Kali Prasono Roy, Lala Harkishan Lal and Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia.




Punjab National Bank (PNB), India’s first Swadeshi Bank, commenced its operations on April 12, 1895 from Lahore. Post Nationalization of Banks in India in 1969, Govt of India has been the largest shareholder of Punjab National Bank.
PNB, in its journey of more than a century, has expanded its presence across India. As at the end of September’ 2023, Bank has total 51519 touch points with a network of 10092 domestic branches, 2 International branches, 12645 ATMs & 28782 Business Correspondents. Gross Global Business of the Bank at the end of September’ 2023 was Rs. 22.51 Trillion.


Punjab National Bank, IFSC Banking Unit (PNB IBU), GIFT City is a branch of Punjab National Bank, established on 08th April’ 2022, with an objective to provide international banking services to Indian as well as overseas customers and offers plenty of products to existing and prospective customers. PNB IBU is regulated by International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
