Description

The competing theory of fatigue states that it develops elsewhere in the body (not in the muscles) and then causes a decrease in muscle contractility. For example, if the source of fatigue is in the central nervous system, the signals it sends to the muscles will become weak or slow as fatigue develops, which will lead to a decrease in muscle contractility and a drop in performance. In order to understand if the muscles are a source of fatigue, it is enough to test what percentage of the muscle fibers are involved in the work during a high-intensity workout.
